I realize that it may take a few months extra on the PC release, but thought this would at least reassure people that the second half will definitely arrive. I've heard very good things about Part 2 from those who have played the game in Japanese (either Hakuouki Shinkai Part I and II or Hakuouki complete on the PS4).There have also been some interesting articles posted featuring discussions with the Iffy (IFI) staff about the localization of Hakuouki Shinkai (Kyoto Winds and now Edo Blossoms). There does seem to be some awareness of fan concerns with the translation of Part I.Imp.
The best part is it did not disappoint. But dang, it still made me cry in its bittersweet ending. Though the whole heart. A few people have asked me (on my blog) how the Steam game is working out, and I never had any problems so I don't feel like I can give a complete answer. I have warned people about the need for some significant computer specs. Anyway, if there's anything you would pass along specifically, it would be good to know. I'm running on Windows 8 and all my drivers are updated and definately in the requirements. But when I try to run the game, after selecting language, the game crashes right away. I can't even get to the main menu screen and its way too late for me to get a refund.
I don't really know the problem. So if you pass the word to people I would just warn them that if the game doesn't work, don't wait around like I did, just get a refund. There are a few threads here on the matter so its not just me that's having issues either. I've sent reports to Iffy but other than asking for my specs I haven't got a reply or fix there. So I don't know what they're going to do about it.
It really pains me to not reccomend this game though since I'm a fan of all the other Hakuouki games. I just feel like the port isn't good if it gives people issues. Originally posted by:Sure! It's really too bad you aren't getting a reply from Iffy. I've checked through the other threads and it looks like memory issues are the biggest problem (but you said your specs all match or exceed).
I'll remind people of Steam's policy on refunds. Originally posted by:I admit I'll get both. I had no problems with the PC version and I like the nice screencaps.:ChibiSaito: Hope you're enjoying the Vita though - did you play Code Realize?
Playng it these days! The characters are great, the story interesting (but what is with these brothers being antagonists to the heroine in Otomate games? X'D) and Delacroix II remind me of a chibi Kazama!I'm still on my first run, tryng to romance Victor. Next surely is Van Helsing.or Impy. Originally posted by:I admit I'll get both.

Although there are changes in terms of the writing tone/style, Kyoto Winds is essentially a more wholesome, refined and better version of the original game. It has additional dialogue, scenes, artwork etc.
But the main overarching storyline events are all the same as the original.Because of how much more content Kyoto Winds has (even though the new routes/characters weren't anywhere near as good as the original cast), I still recommend playing it over the original. It just has so much more to offer in comparison to the original Hakuoki.I would only recommend the original game (PS3 version) if you want to experience the 'complete' storyline, without waiting for Kyoto Winds Part 2. Although Kyoto Winds included majority of the fan disk moments from the PS3 version, it doesn't seem to include all of them.
